Lossing weight on a detox type diet… sagging skin help?

im 158 and wanna go down to 130 or 135
going on a raw food detox like diet just vegtables, fruit, quinoa, buckwheat, extra virgin olive oil, unsalted nuts, herbs and spices and heral/green teas , what can i do to stop from getting excess skin? yoga or weights and what weights should i go?

My girlfriend has tried all sorts to lose weight but nothing has worked quite as effectively as the wu yi tea that she drinks, it’s been covered on CNN and Fox News. She lost 10 pounds in five weeks. She gets it from a friend at work but I discovered this site in Google; www.newloseweight.com – they have a free trial on at the moment, maybe they’re worth a try?

how much weight can i expect to lose on a raw vegan diet?

i’m aiming to get to about 160 pounds at 5’8. i’m currently 219.8 pounds, so i have about 60 pounds to lose. i’m doing the diet out of The raw food detox Diet: The Five-Step Plan for Vibrant Health and Maximum Weight Loss by Natalia Rose, and i just altered the recipes to make them vegan. anyways, i’m wondering how much weight i can expect to lose and how fast?

thanks! XD
yea, i’m a vegetarian but ALMOST vegan, like the only thing i eat is like cheese sometimes, but i’m cutting that out now.

I have read this book. It’s super good to eat raw foods as they contain all their nutrients. Being vegan means virtually no saturated animal fat so cutting this out alone will help you lose weight. I am vegetarian and get a lot of my calories from dairy, I would weigh less if I cut them out completely. You should lose weight rapidly especially if you exercise. Probably 2-5 lbs a week. Drink water and stay below 1300 calories, it will melt off fast! good luck.

Raw versus cooked vegetables in weight loss?

I’ve noticed that when I am trying to lose a few pounds, I tend to lose weight much more easily when I am eating raw vegetables rather than cooked vegetables…even when all other factors (other foods I am eating, level of exercise) remain equal. Why is that? It’s so weird! I am not adding butter/oil to the cooked veggies or anything, so that can’t be why…

I think that when you cook certain veggies, you lose some of the nutrients. Also, it probably takes more effort for your body to break down raw veggies than cooked ones…

Does anyone actually live the Raw Food Diet lifestyle and why does it HAVE to be a Vegetarian /Vegan diet?

Do people who are on this diet actually prefer eating cold food vs. warm?
Why can’t raw meats/fish be included in this diet? I am obviously talking theoretically about safe raw meat free of diseased bacteria. Vegetables can contain poisons from the environment just as likely as an animals meat can contain harmful bacteria’s, so given this theory – why is meat and fish left out of this lifestyle?
happybid – I think you need to reread the question. It was not, what is a Vegan? It was, why does this diet have to be veggie or Vegan?
Heelbell – you too, I know that meats and veggies can have harmful things in them; this is why I was speaking theoretically, as I stated. You can get harmful bacteria at a farmers market, nothing is absolute. Besides I grow my own. This was a question of the raw diet not including meat and fish, (which by the way I would eat steak tartar and sashimi multiple times a week without a problem.) And it’s not "obvious that there are a lot of people" on it. I just happend to be a very informed, intelligent person, who likes to learn new things all the time. So next time you want to answer my question I’d appreciate it if you were not so smug and answer the question asked. Not trying to be pissy here but kind of annoid.

I know of raw foodists who eat raw fish, honey, raw egg, and raw dairy products. So, no, they are not vegan or vegetarian. I don’t think people who eat like this comprise the majority of raw foodists, however. I try to incorporate a lot of raw foods into my diet, but it’s hard when traveling to do it healthily, and I don’t feel it’s necessary for me to have a 100% raw diet anyway. I have had some really excellent dishes at raw food restaurants, including the best strawberry cream pie I can ever imagine eating (restaurant in Bangkok). I didn’t notice or care that my meal wasn’t hot. It was more room temperature than cold, anyway. Think about it: you probably eat plenty of cold foods already. Salads, fruits, etc. It’s a very nice way to eat in summer.

I am interested in raw foods but all of the websites i have seen dont really help. Does anyone have informa…

tion on the foods you can and cant eat? and has eating raw foods helped you in any way?

Raw food helped a great deal- my allergies and sinus problems are gone, no more headaches or depression, I only need six hours of sleep, and when I wake up, I’m actually awake.

I eat fruits, vegetables, nut and seeds, and anything I can make by combining those. A typical day would be: smoothie for breakfast, (fresh squeezed oj, frozen bananas, agave nectar) veggies and cashew ranch for lunch, a Lara Bar for a snack, and a nut burger on onion bread or guacamole on flax seed tostadas for dinner.

A good trial book would be Jennifer Cornbleet’s "Raw Food Made Easy."
If you wanted something more comprehensive, "The Complete Book of Raw Food" is an excellent resource.
