I am looking to start a 7 day detox plan followed by a raw food plan and then a juice fast. Does anyone know any 7 day plans to start me off on my way? And can anyone tell me what the benefits are?
Thank You!
I was exactly where you are last year when I started detoxing and a raw food diet.
I have tried a few detox and colon cleansing plans over the past year and the one that I have continued with is called Sukkiri Detox out of Japan (don’t worry, the ship worldwide cheap).
There is a 3day pre-cleanse followed by a 7day detox. I have done it both while doing a juice fast and on my second cleanse I did it with organic raw foods.
Benefits:
I lost about 5 pounds, my tummy flattened out, the bumps around my temple for the most part disappeared and I felt extremely sharp. My mind was crisp. I guess everyone has different experiences but if you have done it you will know what I mean.
I have done a good job staying on the raw foods diet because I cleanse every 3 months. That way, when I start to stray from my diet, I try to remember that I have a cleanse coming up and I have to prepare which helps me stick to it.
Good luck!

Hey guys. I know nutritional knowledge is important and I AM interested, but I am preparing for military service and I really want to get fit as soon as possible and change the health of my body to better serve. To this end I would love to have something like an "ultimate diet" where I wouldn’t have to worry about how much I eat/drink, or exactly WHAT I eat or drink in any given day.
First off, some (relevant?) info on me:
I am about to turn 20. I weigh ~160 pounds. I am about 5"6.5′.
I run three times a day, for between 20-40 minutes on average, my goal being at least 2.5 miles every time. I do some weights and calasthenics (I messed that spelling I know) but none consistently, which I’m going to work to change. I am very committed to this goal.
Secondly, this is the only thing like this I’ve seen in my cursory reading tonight:
"WEIGHT LOSS DIET
The program was developed in conjunction with the grant from U.S. Department of agriculture and their Food & Drug Administration. It was field tested at the John Hopkins Research Center and was approved by the Board of Directors of General Motor Corporation at a general meeting on August 15, 1995.
It is management’s intention to facilitate a welfare and fitness program for everyone. This program is designed for a target weight loss of 5 to 6 Kgs per week.
It will also improve your attitude and emotions because of its systematic cleansing effects.
The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the foods eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in calorific value.
This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 pounds. You will have an abundance of Energy and an improved digestion.
DURING THESE SEVEN DAYS YOU MUST DRINK 10 GLASSES OF WATER EACH DAY.
Day One:
All fruits except bananas: Your first day will consist of all fruits you want. It is suggested you consume lots of melons the first day, especially water melons.
Day Two:
All vegetables: You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit of the amount or type. Avoid Oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have a large boiled potato for breakfast.
Day Three:
Any mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice: Any amount, any quantity. No bananas and no potatoes today.
Day Four:
Bananas and Milk: today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. You can also have one bowl of vegetable soup.
Day Five:
Today is a feast day: You will eat 1 cup of rice. You also have to eat six whole tomatoes. Drink 13 glasses of water today to cleanse your system of the excess uric acid you will be producing.
Day Six:
Today is another all Vegetables day. You may eat 1 cup of rice today. Eat all vegetables you want cooked and uncooked to your hearts content.
Day Seven:
Today your food intake will consist of 1 cup of rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.
Tomorrow Morning you will be five to eight Kgs lighter than 1 week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. Repeat this program as often as you like. However it is suggested that you rest for three days before every repetition.
You have your system under control now and it will thank you for all the purging and cleansing you just gave it. Even more that a diet programs it is good to follow this diet once in a while to clean your digestive system and remove toxic substances that have accumulated in the system.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
The most important element of the program is 10 tall glasses of water a day. You can also flavour the water with some lemon to make the drinking easier.
While on program take only black coffee.
Never more that 1 teaspoon of oil. Preferably do not use oil because of high calorific content. No fruit juices before day seven.
Here is what happens to your body while you are on this program and how and why it works.
Day One: you are preparing your system for upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh fruits. Fruits are nature’s perfect food. They provide everything you can possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.
Day two: Starts with mix of complex carbohydrates in the form of boiled potato. This is taken in the morning to provide energy and balance. The rest of day two consists of vegetables, which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fibers.
Day three eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds.
Day four bananas and milk sound the least desirable. Today is the day you can have coffee with milk. You are in for a surprise. You probably will not be able to eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there for the potassium you have lost an
Looks to me like you are doing great on your own. I may be taking some pointers from you. Good Luck!

I’m considering the raw food diet. I’d like some useful information about it especially if you have tried it yourself. I’m not trying to lose weight. I just think I’ll feel healthier on a raw food diet.
I tried the raw food diet a few months back and really didn’t get on with it at all, basically because of the level of veggies.
I moved over to the peleolithic diet and love every minute of it. Still eating raw veggies and fruit BUT only upto 90g of carbohydrate grams per day (not weight but carb g).
I have listed a great resourse I use every week in the box below, it’s great for virtually every aspect of health and fitness. Today’s was blowing the lid off detox scams, which work and which dont.

I’ve been thinking about incorporating more raw foods into my diet and am simply wondering where to begin. From what I understand I need a food dehydrator and a food processor- is there an inexpensive brand or type of each some of you more experienced raw foodsists would recommend? How about recipe books, and websites? I know I can Google for recipes but I’d like to know what your favorites are as well.
Thank you kindly ~
I see you got almost no answers so far. I was not fully raw, but I had a time of being up to 90% raw (during recovery from a serious disease).
I can at least recommend you a cookbook author: Ani Phyo. She’s a real pro and won numerous vegetarian and vegan awards. I can recommend ALL her books and cooking videos (those are for free). The website address is: http://www.aniphyo.com/
There are some raw vegan communities online, but I never did go any deeper there, kinda infested with certain sect members, similar to the trolls here, only more difficult to recognize :-/
As long you do not know how long you will go raw, better no investing in too expensive appliances. An average – approved quality – food processor is fine for beginners, and for dehydrating one can use the oven (or sunshine). Only if you are SURE in the long term it pays off to get the Vita-Mix or similar high quality blender (albeit the Vita-Mix probably pays off in the end for everyone who is interested in healthy and nutrition dense food).
Test out first if you want to stay 100% raw for some time, I could not justify that for myself after a few days. It is good for detoxing the body, but one can detox also with health conscious vegan whole foods. I just missed the real rice, the real pasta, the steaming HOT soups and stews, the baking and cooking itself – I love cooking and it is a very therapeutic and soothing process and the cooking aromas and the warm and inviting kitchen are parts of it…
So today I am at around 50% raw in my food and the rest is cooked or baked… And I do well, so raw is not the ultimate only answer
But I am absolutely not anti-raw, it’s definitely very healthy and the body benefits greatly

Low calorie diets donât work either. Itâs actually not very healthy for your body. When it comes to burning fat, your system is much slower with the low calorie diets. Youâll lose weight at the beginning but then you will suddenly notice that you arenât losing weight anymore. Always remember, that a low calorie intake is practically depriving yourself of food â not allowing you to lose weight the healthy way. In fact, after a while, the combination of low-grade starvation and stress will trigger an anti-stress hormone that makes your body horde calories as fat around the belly. Exactly the opposite of what you want.
