I live in Tucson Arizona and want to start my dogs on raw food diet. Are there any suppliers in Tucson 4 this?

Is there a supplier in Tucson that caters to people feeding raw diets? Or should I just buy the stuff from my local grocery store? Anyone else in Tucson doing raw diet?

Tucson Raw was founded in September of 2002 by less than a dozen members.
We worked together to make feeding raw foods to our animals cost efficient and convenient.
Since then we have grown to over 200 members and have access to 27 different items on a monthly basis.

Vegans: We all know the benefits of a vegan diet, but have any of you considered what raw foods have to offer?

Ever considered Raw Veganism?

I have considered it and I would eventually like to eat 100% raw food. Right now, considering that I’m a college student, I think it would be very difficult. I try to eat raw fruit for breakfast and a large raw salad for lunch every day, but I think that once college starts again I probably won’t have time to do that every day.

When I’m older and have my own house, I’d really like to have my own garden and grow a lot of my own raw food. I don’t know if that will happen, but I like the idea of it.

Water: A Perfect Detox Diet

Often, the term detox is associated with treating the body for alcohol or drug addiction. However, detox also can refer to cleansing the body of environmental and dietary toxins accumulated over time to improve health or to lose weight. Generally, detox dieters will detox once or twice a year. Health practitioners recommend that such short-term cleansing not occur more than three times a year.

A detox diet will minimize the intake of unnecessary chemicals and emphasize such foods that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants that are essential to detoxification. For the detox diet novice, health professionals suggest easing into detoxification by following a simple detox diet plan. Basically, this plan involves drinking plenty of water and eating one type of fruit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dieter should not mix the types of fruit at each meal. It is best to eat until hunger subsides. Other detoxifications focus on smoothies and juices rather than raw fruits. There are many websites that offer a detox diet recipe for smoothies made of almost any fruit.

Typically, people engage in detox diets to improve overall energy, the skin, digestion and bowel movements, and mental awareness. There are different detox diets aimed at improving the state of different organs such as the skin, kidneys, liver, and lymph system to name a few. Water fasting has become highly associated with detox diets. In fact, many people engage in water fasting for weight loss in addition to cleansing the body.

When water fasting, the dieter drinks water only when he or she is thirsty. One of the main ideas behind the water fasting diet is that there is no energy wasted on the digestive processes of the body. The only energy that the body exerts is to warm cold water to maintain a level body temperature. Because the water diet does not require any foods for several days, the body has more energy to burn in eliminating and releasing toxins. This energy conservation also allows the body to recover from the stresses caused by the digestion of solid foods.

With the recent popularity surge of the detox diet and the water diet, manufactures have begun producing diet water. Many health professionals are skeptical of such a product since water itself contains no calories or nutritional value. However, most diet water contains a natural ingredient known as Super CitriMax, which helps the body suppress feelings of hunger and increases metabolism. When not fasting, many individuals will drink diet water shortly before a meal to control eating habits.

Foods That Control Diabetes

It cooking is required; they should be boiled, unpeeled, in a small quantity of water for about 10 minutes. Artichokes can be effectively combined with other vegetables.

How Would You Like To Eat To Lose Weight

Getting rid of unwanted extra pounds is never easy but many of us make is harder than it really is. Skipping meals and drastically cutting calories will yield temporary results but you can achieve long term weight loss if you choose a slower approach. Basically, you need to eat to lose weight.

I know you’re probably thinking that eating is what added the extra pounds in the first place. However, the kinds of foods along with a lack of exercise are more of a source of trouble than the actual act of eating. When you eat to lose weight you will find that you can take in more food and feel satisfied throughout the day.

So how do you eat to lose weight? The first thing you want to do is slow down. You are more likely to overeat if you scarf your meals down too quickly. You have to give your stomach enough time to tell your brain that it is full. I know it sounds silly but it does take time to process this information.

Choose whole foods. When you eat to lose weight, you are best off picking foods that are not processed. The more stuff that is done to the food, the more fattening it is likely to be. Natural foods are best and they take a little longer to eat. Raw veggies and fruits have to be chewed well and this takes more time than ingesting a piece of cheesecake.

You should not only eat to lose weight but drink to drop pounds as well. You have probably heard about the eight glasses of water each day so I won’t lecture. Drinking a nice, hot cup of tea can be as satisfying as a couple of cookies but it won’t add the pounds.

It is important to remember that many beverages can work against your weight loss efforts. If you eat to lose weight but drink as if you don’t have a care in the world, you probably won’t see very good results. Instead of drinking a glass of apple juice, just drink the apple. The sugar content in the juice is really concentrated and it’s almost like eating three or four apples.

In order to curb your appetite you might want to consider eating a handful of almonds about 20 minutes before your next meal. This is a great way to eat to lose weight because your brain is being told that you are receiving nutrients. Remember that you need to nourish your body in order to keep the pounds at bay.

Change your Diet to Cure your Constipation

There are many things that can cause constipation and changing your diet will almost always help no matter what the cause. Some of the causes can be a diet low in natural fiber, food allergies, not drinking enough fluids, overuse of laxatives and not enough exercise.

Constipation can also be caused by a more serious health condition such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, colon cancer and irritable bowel syndrome — just to name a few. If your constipation does not get better with diet and natural remedies, you might have something more serious and should see your doctor right away.

Dietary Suggestions:

Drink lots of water throughout the day — about 8 glasses. Why is so much water necessary? Food is ground up in our stomachs and then passes in liquid form into the small intestine. This is where the nutrients are removed. It then goes into the colon and water is removed so that the stool can form. Sometimes too much water is extracted causing the stool to become hard and difficult to pass. This is why you need adequate water in your diet.

Increase your dietary fiber as it helps retain water in the stools. Oat bran and ground flax seeds can be incorporated in your diet by adding them to your hot cereal, muffins or in your smoothy. Also, eating lots of raw fruits (with the skins) and vegetables will help increase your daily fiber. Keep the skins on your potatoes also.

Add prunes or prune juice to your diet as they have a mild laxative effect. Prunes have traditionally been used to keep the bowels regular. Raisins are also good.

Limit or avoid sugar and processed foods as much as possible.

Taking probiotics can also be helpful — such as acidophilus, lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. You can find these in yogurt, kefir and other fermented foods or you can buy them in capsule form.

Here are some other foods that are recognized as having a laxative effect: coconuts, avocados, dates, dried apricots, nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc.), seeds, olives, figs, pineapple, grapes and green apples.

Drinking aloe vera juice can have a balancing effect on your intestinal flora and may help eliminate your constipation.

Eating a diet of whole foods instead of processed foods, fast foods and deep fried foods can cure many a health problem and get your body back in balance, including balancing your digestive system.

Green drinks or freshly juiced vegetables and fruit can help keep you regular. They are also an excellent way to improve your health and just feel better all around as they are loaded with vitamins, minerals and many other beneficial nutrients.

Two other diet tips: Chew your food well and eat regular small meals throughout the day. Don’t skip meals or eat too much at once.

If you suspect food allergies, you can either do an elimination diet or get tested to find out what foods you are allergic to. An elimination diet has you leave out a suspected food and see if you feel better. Then you reintroduce the suspected food and notice how you react. This way you can find out what you are allergic to one food at a time. Food allergies can cause constipation, so finding out what foods you are allergic to and avoiding those foods can be very helpful.

Well those are my tips for improving your diet to help cure your constipation. Also, don’t forget to exercise!

You must trust your bodies ability in healing itself. After all, which man made machine is every as effective? Nothing comes close to the complexity of the human body.

Consult the Real Doctor Within You
If you have faith and trust in your body’s ability to heal itself, the unpleasant symptoms, which may accompany this healing, become more bearable and are not a source of fear or misgiving. Ultimately, we must let our body perform its health-restoring work at its own pace. The real doctor is within–the body alone is capable of performing all the needed healing functions. The cellular intelligence driving the body is infinite in its capacity. We need not have any fears about its wisdom or ability to restore itself to the highest-possible level of health and well-being.

Coffee, Are They Contamination As Well?
The stimulating effect of caffeine in cola, coffee, tea, and chocolate are well known. Substitute for cola: for the caffeine green tea; for the sugar it contains (one 0.2 l. glass contains 3 spoons full of refined sugar) you can drink fruit juices instead as it contains no artificial stimulants and its healthy for you as well!

Substitute for coffee:
Japanese or Chinese green tea. Gives the same kick because it contains the caffeine but is less worse because it does not contain the stomach irritating substances.

Your Health!
Bowel movements are the basis of your health. If you don’t have at least 1 bowel movement per day, you are already walking your way toward disease. Man’s body has not changed very much in the past several thousand years… however man’s diet has certainly changed a lot. All the refined sugar, white flour, hormone/antibiotics-filled meats we constantly ingest constitute an assault on our bodies. We are continuously violating our bodies by eating terrible foods. Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.
