Help With Weight Loss Please !?

So ive been trying to lose weight for quite abit now on the first couple of weeks i lost about 7 pounds but now nothing is happening.

I eat a special K bar for breakfast

A lettuce and cucumber sandwich for lunch and 2 raw carrots

For dinner usually something like a jacket taty.

And for snacks usually an apple or lots of fruit.

I go jogging 5 times a week and go on the rower and go boxing about 3 times a week.

People tell me that i shouldnt have bread and i have it everyday its at school so what can i take as a substitute to bread.

And should i be doing more exercise and cut out more food?

Any adivice will be really appreciated thanks..
I dont drink anything but water sometimes a glass of low fat milk

I know muscle doesn’t form that quick but that could be why your not seeing huge numbers jump, if your doing all of that stuff then that could be a factor. Drink lots of water and make sure your consuming at least 1200-1400 calories a day. If you eat less and not enough calories then everytime you eat your body is just going to store those calories incase you don’t eat again for a while. Also try not eating 3 hours before bed, you may already do that but that’s what I got.

can you eat imitation crab on the raw food diet or is that cooked already?

i think this fish is cooked but not sure…does anyone have a list of ALL you can eat on the raw diet? What are the must have books? or websites?

fresh fruits and vegetables
Nuts
Seeds
Beans
Grains
Legumes
Dried fruit
Seaweed
Unprocessed organic or natural foods
Freshly juiced fruit and vegetables
Purified water
Young coconut milk

At least 75% of food consumed should not be heated over 116 degrees F.

consider: Sprouting seeds, grains, and beans
Juicing fruit and vegetables
Soaking nuts and dried fruit
Blending
Dehydrating food

Some people experience a detoxification reaction when they start the raw food diet, especially if their previous diet was rich in meat, sugar, and caffeine. Mild headaches, nausea, and cravings can occur but usually last for several days.

possible nutritional deficiencies:
Calcium
Iron
B12 – The Journal of Nutrition study found that a raw food diet increased levels of homocysteine due to vitamin B-12 deficiency.
Protein

Whats the best way to feed raw foods to your dog??? And What should it be?

I have a 4year old pit bull and i wanna start feeding her raw, to help her gain weight, but im not sure what to feed her or what to mix, or how many times a day… Thanks for anyone who can help…

Some basics:

- A prey-model diet should consist of 80 percent muscle meat, 10 percent bone, and 10 percent organs.
- Start slow. Try one protein source (meaning one type of meat) for a whole week before trying a new source. Good first meats are chicken leg quarters, chicken breasts, big hunks of red meat, etcetera.
- The following are wonderful resources when learning raw: http://www.rawfed.com and the raw food diet forum at http://www.dogster.com .

Good luck!

I want to try the raw food diet to lose weight, any tips?

I also want to be on the raw food diet to be more healthy and get rid of some ailments that I have. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well first off–congrats on making the decision to go raw! Going raw is a difficult decision and and even more difficult journey that pays dividends in the end.

As for advice, going raw can result in some weight loss, but those aren’t he only positive benefits: as you stated, going raw can help your body to detoxify and to heal itself from any ailments or illnesses that may have been brought on by over acidification of your tissues, extra weight, water retention, and malnutrition.

raw foods maintain all of their enzymes and vitamins, as they have not been cooked and destroyed by the heating process. Bear in mind that when you first go raw, you may experience some minor or moderate cleansing/detoxification symptoms, which may include intestinal discomfort, night sweats, hunger, headaches, nausea, etc.

Overtime, these symptoms fade as your body adjusts to the healing qualities of the food. After this initial detoxification, you may notice you’ve lost some weight.

It may be advisable to go 75% raw at first before going 100%–unless you have the emotional fortitude to go cold turkey 100% raw. For some people, however, this proves difficult, as many people find that eat raw in a cooked society is far more stressful and alienating than ever imagined.

Because of this, it’s important to maintain close contact with other individuals in the raw food vegan community. There are several web sites out there, such as www.rawpeople.com, where you can learn more about the raw food vegan diet and connect with others who can support you on your journey.

Be sure to get adequate rest, water, sunlight and exercise as well. Best of luck to you!

Is my body detoxing or something? I feel blah…?

In the past couple months, I’ve been slowly changing my eating habits… eating MUCH healthier. I’ve lost almost 20 pounds this summer, and have another 15 to my goal. Anyhow, I’m not doing anything unhealthy.. (i think anyway) I’m eating a low fat / high fiber and protien diet… I work out between 1-2 hours a day, and I don’t eat after 8pm anymore.

I’ve read recently in my health magazines about the master cleanse (that seems crazy hard to do).. and a raw food diet/detox. I don’t really feel that I could eat NOTHING but raw food … (but apparently you can lose a pound a day) I have, though, tried to eat as much raw fruit and vegetables as I can stand… along with enough protien and fiber daily. (example – lentils /ck breast/tuna/nuts/oatmeal/ 1 or two prtien shakes a day – after working out – and a fruit/veggie smoothie for my dinner)

This is pretty extreme change compared to how I was eating at the beginning of summer… anyway.. the past 2 days of this MOST raw food diet I’ve felt headachey and weak .. almost like a mild hangover. I’ve heard that if your body is detoxing (like if u do the master cleanse, or the raw food cleanse) that the symptoms are similar to what I’m feeling.

Could it be that my diet was sooo horrible before (a month or two ago) that even eating what i’m eating now, is detoxing my body a little bit?

AND has anyone had success with either of the cleanses that I mentioned? if so, could you tell me about them? thanks!
oo and i also drink a ton of water and green tea.. I take a good multi vitamin… we cut out all processsed food and white flour…

any other changes I could make that you can think of? I’m getting pretty into this new healthy lifestyle :) especially after seeing the changes in our bodies…
definately not too much tuna.. i eat tuna like once.. MAYBE twice a week…

i’m pretty sure i eat enough calories too. id guess a little under 1000-1200, but i’ve read that your body goes into malnutrion around 600-700 calories.. and thats all you NEED.

There are two things I can think of. Maybe you are not getting enough calories in your day? If you are eating under 1200 that could be the issue.

Also, how much tuna do you eat? I have a friend who has mercury poisoning from tuna. She had headaches and hair loss as a symptom. If you’ve had too much tuna for a while that could have the side effects you are talking about.

5 year old Dwarf Hamster – loss of weight?

I got 2 sister dwarf hamsters about almost 6 years ago. Pudgemuffin died in October after a nasty case of glaucoma, but Sasha is still around. They were not housed together (so this isn’t mourning) because my mother had Sasha at her house, and I had Pudge at mine. My mother moved and had to give Sasha away, so I took her in. I know for a fact my mother gave her things like pizza crust and crackers, and I only give her her food and mustard/dandelion greens, carrots, green/yellow peppers, cucumbers, a pinch of raw oatmeal oats, and occasional fruits (not more than once a week) like strawberries, grapes, bananas or chopped apples. She used to pe VERY round and puffy, but she has lost A LOT of weight. I understand her losing weight because of the diet change.. but she has gotten VERY thin. She also has a small mole-like growth on her lower tummy area. It doesn’t seem to bother her, and I would take her to a vet, but the vets around here are nitwits and don’t know much about rodents. Plus if it is a tumour or something, I couldn’t afford to get it removed. Im hoping the two are at least unrelated. any ideas? She is more than 5 1/2 years old, and runs a lot. Is it normal for her to be losing weight like this? Thanks =)

Well to be honest I’ve never heard anything like this before and ‘wow’ your hamster is 5 and a half years old, that is amazing and you must be very proud of that.

However I can’t really think of a logical reason for this, apart from old age, as my syrian hamster lived up to 2 and half years old, and when she got to the end she lost a lot of weight and fur, but she did eat nevertheless only a little bit. I was worried and upset but I knew what was happening to her. So it is possible that your hamster is going through this process however of course it may not be either.

Do you feed you hamster dry ‘hamster’ food as well?? If not maybe that’s why, I am asking this as you did not mention this as well.

If you are still worried, I would seriously consider of you seeking guidance at a different vet. Preferably a vet that has good knowledge and experience based on rodents, remember you can just simply ring and ask. There is no harm of doing that, as it is their job providing information for all pet owners.

Good Luck and I hope this has helps a tad bit!

Does throwing up hinder your weight loss?

i eat really good food, i have been vegetarian for over a year & a half, then raw vegan for 10 months,& then have just been vegan for the past 5 months, i stay away from overly processed food, i avoid sugar and flour, i consume mostly whole foods, i exercise regularly & often quite vigorously, doing all this you would think i am in perfect shape, but i weigh the most i ever have! not only weight wise, but inch wise too, im the thickest i have ever been! does anyone know why? there are only two things i can think that might have resulted in this, & that is (1) reduced protein intake, its difficult to get enough being vegan, my body naturally has a lot of muscle & its real easy for me to get stronger & (2) is i throw up on a daily basis, its mostly a habit & a comfort, & i most of the time i dont throw it all up just if i feel a bit too stuffed or if it was something i shouldnt have eaten. Does that effect my weight? Please help, Im open to any advice/suggestions? Thank you in advance!

The answers are yes, yes, and yes!!! You aren’t getting enough protein, so your body can’t build muscle, which burns fat. Your throwing up is depleting your body of everything it needs to find balance – water, vitamins, minerals, everything!
A body thrown out of balance reacts as it would to times of starvation – it hoards fat!
I recommend:
1) Get counseling to help you stop throwing up
2) Keep your exercise moderate – your body needs periods of rest to build muscle. During exercise, you’re actually destroying muscle tissue- to be replaced, bigger and better, during the rest period afterwards. Exercising 3-4 times a week is great.
3)Get on a structured program of regular meals and add natural supplements to make sure you get what you need.
Herbalife "healthy meal" shakes are terrific – great protein, all the vitamins (including the B vitamins and iron so often lacking from a vegan diet). They’re also delicious!

To help get started with your program, log onto my website, fill out the form, and I’ll send you the how-to for no. 3 above.
Also- send me a description of your usual food schedule, so I can see what you need to improve.
Good luck!

If I go on a raw food diet, will it help me lose belly fat?

I want to go on a raw food diet, but I’m wondering if it will help slim my tummy. I have a pear shape with an undefined waist which causes me to have such a full waist. Also, how long does it take to lose weight on a raw food diet? I’m not into working out, but will I still shed pounds with eating raw? Thank You!

Diets take away fat ONLY if they’re done right. Stick to it, and you’ll see results. But…belly fat might be from not going to the bathroom enough. Try eating more fiber first.
