The juiceman Jay Kordach has been on a high-fruit diet for 50 years. He’s 88 and doing well.

I’m 41, and look 24. I look the same as I did 15 years ago when I started eating 15 pieces of fruit a day.

So something’s amiss among the plethora of acronym data. :) No offense…. just my hyped-up sense of humor.

I’ve never done 811. Watch this whole series and I talk about the problems that high fruit diets like it can cause.

…by not consuming too MUCH omega 6 lowers the conversion of ALA to the longer chain versions of omega 3.

Too many phytoestrogens are a burden, yes, but the few sprouted beans you might be eating will not be enough to overthrow your endocrine system. Too much fat will also cause estrogen to rise, so people who shy away from carbohydrates often end up eating too much fat :p

Just eliminate the sources of xeno and phytoestorgens from your environment and you should be fine.

There are basically 3 types of omega 3.

ALA is found in many types of plants, the ones you mentioned plus: Chia seeds, hemp seeds, avocado, acai and most leafy green vegetables.

EPA and DHA are longer chain omega 3’s and they are often said to only be found in fish, krill and other seafood. These are all carcinogenic forms of it however and it’s much better to get plant based forms of it from algae (where the fish get it from), purslane, garlic and…

that’s why the glycemic index/load is so dangerous and not to be used

Fantastic lecture! Yes my mistake. It does however still cause 7x more AGE’s than glucose according to that lecture.

Oooh! I just saw that and that came to mind… I don’t know why people think algae are acidic. They’re extremely high in alkalizing minerals! People see high protein and immediately think acidic, but that’s not the case.

Never mind I got your video of Brian Clement mixed up with the Ph Miracle dude who was on renegade health. Sorry.

    Thanks Zak! You rock!

Healthful Cuisine by Anna Maria Clement is the recipes for dishes that “fit” the Hippocrates diet ideals.

The book that outlines the diet itslef the best would be “Lifeforce” by Brian Clement. It talks a lot about the nutritional components of sprouts algae and a lot of the most powerful foods that he recommends consuming.

What’s the best book for learning what the ideal diet is according to the HHI system? Is there a book that will spell out what to eat, what not to eat, how much wheat grass juice to drink a day etc?

  13. SecretsOfLongevity — March 10, 2010 @ 2:26 pm

Are you asking a question?? There’s a lot of things different between fish, wolves and people!

What do you mean by impossibly beneficial? Brian is pro algae and against meat.

  14. LatestNutrition — March 10, 2010 @ 2:35 pm

fructose doesn’t trigger glyicemic index spike tinyurl(DOT)com/ldgu9k

  15. LifeOM — March 10, 2010 @ 2:43 pm

    If wolves eat meat
    and fish eat algae
is the difference between us and them in our digestive system

Because the Clement talk mentioned Meat and Algae to be impossibly beneficial in people.

@joeys123321 and to continue in terms of longevity maintaining a healthy level of hormones is vital, there are so many xeno estrogens in our enviroment that the baby boomer generation is reaching andropause 10 years earlier then there fathers, and the children now are expected to do the same 10 years earlier then them. On the upside the hippocrates diet has was it 2? green drinks a day and green leaves like spinach do have testosterone boosting chemicals.

  18. joeys123321 — March 10, 2010 @ 4:08 pm

Hi, i am currently trying to get a good source of omega 3 on a budget so i was going to go for flax seeds then i found out that they contain 3 times as many phytoestrogens as soy which is around 350000 micrograms(flax), i then looked at other foods and found that all beans and seeds have high phtyo estrogen content around the 600 (+/-) 300 microgram mark, i want to try the hippocrates diet but i also would like to include some natural way to block these estrogens, do you take anything for this?

They’re a fruit but not a sweet fruit. Whenever I refer to sweet fruit (or fruit in general) I’m talking about apples, oranges bananas, mangoes etc.

Peppers, avocados and cucumbers don’t count since they have suc a low sugar content.

  20. charlesobama — March 10, 2010 @ 5:13 pm
