I lost 15 pounds on a detox diet, how to prevent gaining it back?

raw food detox

I used to weight about 130, and on the water/raw food diet, I lost 15 pounds. I now weigh 115. I used to eat rather unhealthfully and didn’t exercise much, but if I start eating healthier and exercise could i prevent gaining the weight back? Any other tips would be appreciated, thanks!

Now you have to start an exercise regime, including strength and cardio. Make sure you eat alot of fruits and vegetables. And good carbs such as: wholemeal bread, brown rice etc.

I would recommend eating lots of veges and good fats and good carbs. Stay away from refined carbs like white rice and stuff like that. If you stick with whole grains and veges, good fats, you will be fine.

The problem is that you went on a pretty much starvation diet. You will gain it back if you start eating the way you use to. I would suggest that you continue to exercise, and continue to eat some of the raw food. Then you will have a chance to maintain the weight.

Lots of fruit and veges are good, but u need a good balance of the food groups. exercise at least 30 mins a day which can include simple things like walking or whatever. If you eat a lot of meat then do weight lifting which will take the GOOD fats turn them into muscle

the detox having such an effect on your body may show that you were having colon troubles. If you eat lots of fiber and make better choices than you were before this diet, you’ll keep it off.

Yeah! just eat healthy and exercises regularly. Here’s a tip: if you want to eat healthy, try to stop eating fried foods and restrain yourself from having too much meat. Eat vegetables and fruits.

Dieting really is never good, the best ‘Diet’ is just eating normally.

*Make sure you have around your 5 a day.

*When you are eating your dinner eat until you feel full. Don’t keep eating to make yourself feel bloated.

*Eat a normal amount of food a day, try to keep it healthy.

*Keep doing stuff, you may find yourself eating because you are bored.

*Chocolate is fine in small quantities, don’t just give it up for say a month because you then may find yourself feeling neglected and just bloating out and ruining all of your hard work from that previous month.

I would look at tapering off the detox diet so your body won’t trigger it’s crisis mechanism’s.. and start storing resources in case of starvation (even though you know it’s not the case).. and really watch portion sizes.

Starting or continuing a workout routine helps too.

Well when I starved myself for three days I lost 13 pounds and I didn’t gain it back because I made sure my metabolism was sped up as much as possible and I would run or walk after eating. Also when I ate for the first time again I have only 200 calories and I gained half of a pound.

How you would speed up your metabolism, is drink coffee, green tea, or energy drinks. They work really well for speeding up your metabolism.

Also when you first start eating again normal you should eat stuff with less than 3 grams of fat in them. This way your body will take as much fat from it as possible and you won’t gain too much.

After you eat and get a little bit of fat gained (less than a pound) your body will think everything is okay and just slowly increase what food you eat until you’re not gaining or losing weight.

Good luck. Congratulations on the fifteen pounds.
