my son is 21 months old and he still breastfeeds about 3-6 times a day, also throughout the night. i’ve been on a raw foods diet before and tried to do the Master Cleanser when i found out i was pregnant. (at the time i wasnt eating raw). i am just dying to go back to raw foods and i know it would be awesome for me, but i am concerned about detoxing and breastmilk.
only serious answers please.
i am a vegetarian now, but i do eat eggs (not much dairy)
mike, thanks for your opinions, but i believe that raw food eating is superior and im not here to be convinced of otherwise. raw foodists are usually super thin because they are in the beginning stages of detox, and after the body cleanses out the toxins those people usually gain weight back.
on a personal level, i have experienced such clarity of mind, happiness and peace on a raw foods diet.
you can.

im not a doctor of any sort, but my guess would be to keep on meats and stuff until he finishes breastfeeding since raw foods don’t really give any protein (im not sure what you mean by raw foods diet, but im thinking that you mean vegetarian or like vegan and not like sushi, fish raw type of things).
since most veggies only give good amounts of fiber and not that much protein. although if you are incredibly serious about getting back on raw foods, try to add soy in your diet since its the best veggie for proteins. and also peanuts and peanut butter.

It could. Are you close to stopping the breast feeding? If you are, why don’t you wait until then, just to be sure.
It’s great that you’re breast feeding this long, btw.
Edit: I agree, I have done many raw fasts and have felt so good. Unless someone has done one, they can’t really say what it’ll do to you.
I started raw fasts years ago, from after Xmas dinner till new years eve 6pm, because there was always a lot of "good food" around after Xmas. Even vegan food can be fattening.

There is no evidence that raw food is superior. Cooking does not destroy vitamins and minerals. The so-called "living enzymes" in raw food and not required by the human body and are broken down into amino acids in the digestive system anyway! Cooking aids digestibility by breaking down fibrous and connective tissue and therefore making nutrients more available to the digestive system. Raw foodists have a tendency to be underweight because they are simply undernourished ,do not consume enough calories , restrict their variety of food sources and fill up on too much fibrous indigestible material. Breast milk quality will probably be affected by a raw diet. In case you are contemplating it, you must not put your child on a raw food diet as you would be risking serious health problems.
I respect your choice of course, but is it possible for you to name these toxins and show me the physiological way in which their removal causes you to become thin? Are you a health professional? Cheers
