Living Raw Food: Get the Glow with More Recipes from Pure Food and Wine
I bought this book of recipes based on raw foods brilliant analysis here. I had to return. That’s not to say that this beautiful book, written by an equally beautiful and accomplished chef, is not a good book. It is. Just not for me. Why and why only three stars? My reasons are:
First, although the recipes look amazing ~ creative, delicious, original ~ are more for entertainment and fun 6-8, not at all practical for me a single raw vegan, even more entertaining if it did or could convince my family to try non-vegetarian raw foods, only portions of 4 or less. The large number of ingredients, many exotic or not so readily available, it was disappointing to me. You spend a fortune on my regular meals and organic raw materials. Simply I can not imagine keeping my fridge and pantry stocked with many of the elements needed for these recipes.
Second, and perhaps the most annoying thing for me is the extraordinary number of photos of Selma, its staff, restaurant, store their products. This drives me crazy with so many of the popular raw food books out there right now! And it is even a picture of a restaurant staff member smoking a cigarette! That floors me! How inappropriate is that? Or is the message that smoking will “glow” as well?
Last but while I examined did pick up some useful and interesting tidbits here and there, I thought much too space was spent on “Selma” philosophy or the most basic information about raw food and its preparation. If one is as advanced as in the preparation of raw food recipes in the scope of this book, is it really necessary to devote much space to the same grounds? I’m not saying that this type of information that is useful or helpful, but I just think it is as superfluous as all pictures of Selma and crew. I’d rather have more pictures of the food, which incidentally are great.
Yes, the food is superb and photograghy the book itself is beautiful, the editing quality. For those of you who really love this book, please do not be angry with my review. I recognize all the reasons to love them. I just think maybe others like me thank my counterpoint.

Although this book is a kind of fashion portfolio Sarma, the food is incredible. I have my copy last week and made several recipes, all of which are very, very good. Note this is a more “gourmet” book for those who like to be creative in the kitchen, but if you have a love for food and want to eat more fresh as possible, this book is for you.
cocktail section is to die for. * Hiccup *

I just bought this book few days ago and I love it. I know that the other reveiws do not recommend it for beginners, but I am new to raw food and I love it. If I eat mostly raw foods I need recipes that taste, so do not miss the cooked food I use to eat.
However, it takes planning and preparation time, but I love the challenge and the amazing results. You can not get the same end result as it does in the pictures, but still tastes amazing.
Have a lot of pictures in it, but I like and I think adds to the charm of the book gives personality. She is beautiful and lets face it, who would want to buy a book or a change to a lifestyle that makes you fat and sickly? We all strive to look and feel your best and I think Sarma did an incredible job with his new book. I live in a small town where there are many raw foodist, so I like to watch and read the thoughts of other proponents of raw foods and stories.
I have tried several recipes and love them all. I have also designed several others I can not wait to try.

I loved the first book Sarma aware that it was the only book raw foods that you regularly use. I was excited about his new book because I knew it would be just as surprising. However, not expecting to be blown away by it because Raw Food / Real World have raised my expectations so high. I was wrong! This book is even better than the first for several reasons. The main reason is because it is organized differently. Instead of the traditional juices and smoothies / snacks / salads / dishes / desserts organization system, Sarma takes a step further by removing the dishes that are quick to prepare and require less equipment that require much more planning, preparation, and equipment is not standard in the kitchen at all. This makes planning the food more easily and less overwhelming, especially for someone who is newer to the diet of raw foods like me. Also, as the first book, you get a picture of each recipe, instead of just a few of them, such as traditional cookbooks. There are also plenty of short articles about health, so not only are more and more recipes. You are receiving education as well. As a smoothie / juice lover and addicted to desserts, this book with your first made me much healthier. I could never give up the dessert, and now I have to. If I eat half a chocolate cake in one sitting (as has been known to do) I can do and not worry about winning ten pounds and my arteries clogging. I suggest this book to anyone who wanted to be even a little healthier. Not just someone who is strictly a raw foodist.

Stunning photography, raw recipes
very innovative (for those who are tired of the same almond milk / green smoothie routine etc), beautiful girl
. . . I made my sister Zahra milk Chocolate Mousse Layer Cake (page 265) for my birthday and it was incredible – better than any chocolate cake I had baked.
thanks Sarma.
